Borjomi, a resort town in the Caucasus region of south-central Georgia, is known for its mineral water industry and nordic forests. This family archive captured by my grandfather Misha Michaelashvili documents time and place.

When the family immigrated to Israel, they lost most of our family photos, very few were left.

Miraculously, I discovered a trove of old film negatives (4x5") and despite being scratched and damaged, I was able to retouch and restore them, and print a selection of digital images on fine-art paper. 

These beautiful images reveal a lost-to time portrayal of a Georgian family, captured in 1962-1973 in Borjomi.
